Redeem the Feed Privacy Policy

Last updated October 8, 2026

Redeem the Feed is a Chrome extension by Wyatt Allen. It helps you use Facebook with purpose by restoring clickable links, blurring words according to your selected sensitivity level plus private custom entries, hiding selected types of feed content, and optionally pausing video playback for a Bible verse reminder.

Information the extension processes

When you enable it on Facebook, Redeem the Feed reads text and page elements displayed on the Facebook page in your browser. It processes that page content locally to find plain-text URLs, compare visible text with the selected word filter (including contextual phrases), identify clearly labeled recommended posts and group links near a post header, and find sponsored ad labels in feed posts and sidebar modules when that option is enabled. It applies only the feed options you select. If you turn on Bible video reminders, the extension observes video play events and counts them in memory for that page session so it can pause playback at your chosen interval. It does not save viewing history. The extension does not save Facebook page content or send it to Wyatt Allen or another server.

Information stored on your device

Your preferences, theme, selected sensitivity level, filter-lock setting, video reminder setting and frequency, and any custom words or phrases are stored in Chrome’s local extension storage. They remain on your device unless you clear them or remove the extension. Custom entries are masked in the popup, which shows only their count. The verse passage you type to unlock filter settings is checked locally and is not stored or sent. The number of video play events is kept only in page memory and is not stored. Redeem the Feed does not use analytics, advertising trackers, an account, or a remote service.

Your choices and deletion

You can change the features and selected sensitivity level in the extension popup. You can add private words or phrases on top of any sensitivity level; the popup shows only the number saved. Choose Pause & erase word list to stop processing Facebook pages and erase your saved custom entries. You can also remove the extension in Chrome to delete its locally stored data.

Sharing

Redeem the Feed does not sell, transfer, or share page content, settings, or your word list. No one at Wyatt Allen receives or reviews Facebook content through the extension.

Children

The extension is not designed to collect information from children. It does not transmit personal information.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated if the extension’s behavior changes. For questions, use the contact page at wyattallen.org.
